How to Get a Work Visa for the Netherlands?

If you’re here, that would mean you’re somewhat interested in getting a Netherlands work visa or at least getting to know about it.

Won’t waste your time. Let’s begin:

What is a Netherlands Work Visa?

A Netherlands Work Visa is an official document that permits Non-EU/EEA nationals or Non-Swiss nationals to reside and work in the Netherlands, as you will require a combination of a residence and a work permit.

Now, how to actually get a Work Visa in the Netherlands?

Simple: Secure a job and your employer will do the rest.

Actually, not that simple. Let me guide you through the process.

Application Process

The process is not that simple, but not too complicated either. First and foremost, start by:

Step 1: Secure a Job Offer

Securing a job offer/an employment contract from an acknowledged employer is essential for your Netherlands route, as the whole process is very much employer-oriented. And for an employer, you need to have a job first.

Step 2: Employer Initiative

Next, you will provide your employer with all the necessary documents, and your employer will initiate your application with the authorities via the IND portal after selecting an appropriate permit for your profile.

Step 3: Patience

The application fee is handled by your employer for now, and all you have to do is wait for the decision from the IND. Once approved, you will have to book an appointment with your nearest Dutch embassy or consulate and collect your MVV entry sticker on your passport.

Step 4: Move

Pack your bags and move to the Netherlands. But there is one more thing that you must do and shouldn’t forget: Collect your physical residence card soon after landing in the country, complete your biometrics and medical check-ups, and start worrying about settling in a foreign country.
